Big Yank, pictured landing after the Berlin mission on March 24, 1945, became the most famous bomber of
the 483rd when the William S. Strapko crew shot down three ME-262 jet fighters that day. This was a
World War II combat record. Crew Chief Irvin H. "Irv" Davis directs Strapko to a parking space.
